What applications are wood shingles suitable for?
Wood shingles are suitable for the entire building envelope:
-
for facades
-
for roofs
Wood shingles are ideal for both new buildings and renovations.
Wood shingles protect your building from rain, hail, snow and wind for decades. They are completely natural, breathable, vibrant and sourced from local forests. We regularly renovate wood shingle façades that are over 100 years old.

What types of wood shingles are there?
Wooden shingles are available in many different versions. A basic distinction is made between hand-split and cut wooden shingles.
Hand-split wooden shingles have the advantage that their wood fibres remain intact on the surface due to being split by hand, meaning that they absorb very little water. Hand-split wooden shingles are used both for roofing and for cladding façades. As façade cladding, they can easily last 100 years or more.
Machine-cut wooden shingles are used for façade cladding. Prefabricated into elements, they can be laid very efficiently. They are often protected with a coat of paint, but even left untreated they achieve a long service life. We repeatedly encounter façades with cut wooden shingles that have reached 100 years of age thanks to good wood quality, professional installation and structural wood protection, such as a large canopy.
